This article pretends to propitiate an approximation to the planning of the energy sector in Colombia, for this, it develops a timetable that intends to cover some strategic parts such as: some origins of the sector, a study of the demand, a study of the offer, prices analysis, public security and relations with the boarder neighbors, finally an analysis of the science and technology, all these elements contribute to identify the trends and developments of the sector in the country and to formulate possible scenarios for the sector.
