This paper describes a new method used to analyze problems associated with power line faults. Overvoltage analysis techniques are evaluated. The complete system, including power cables and power ground is simulated in a workstation for transient practices with several laboratory practices using an experimental rele. A new method for power quality analysis, and detection of switching of the reclose rele is proposed. Comparisons between the power cable models are including. Experimental results of adverse effects in a power distribution feeder and long power cables from transient's lines are shown.
