There are different tools for performing assessment of caries risk, such as the Cariogram program, software that estimates and graphically illustrated profile of risk, based on clinical data, interviews and salivary tests; the result expressed as in that the etiologic factors affect the risk of decay, providing prevention strategies. At the USC dental clinic was implemented the use of cariogram since the year 2007, no evidence until 2013, of knowledge and using suitable for students. The research assessed knowledge and use of the cariogram in clinical training practices in the period 2013B, with a study descriptive observational, population of 724 and probabilistic sampling of 100 students, using previously validated questionnaire. The results show that 35% of the evaluated always use it to fill out the medical history. 66% of participants approved the questionnaire, indicating that failure to improve and promote clinical knowledge management in the implementation of the instrument. Concluding that they have the basic theoretical knowledge, they know what it is used, know the principal characteristics and the protocols of the variables analyzed, but some don´t have clear accurate data such as the percentages, ranges and other important data for filling and evaluating the caries risk through the use of computer program Cariogram.
