This research was to propose a methodology for assessing the usability of mobile educational applications. To achieve this result an analysis of the ISO / IEC 9126 standard and then a characterization of this type of software was made, already from them a set of metrics designed for each sub-feature, considering the additional specifications and differential approach generates the fact of using a mobile device compared to a stand-alone application or website, which is designed for anyone who is the norm in the first instance. The proposal seeks to improve the quality of mobile educational applications in the teaching-learning process, to have a reference guide that allows software developers in the aspects to be taken into account to build truly usable applications and users measure level of usability that have applications efficiently and to choose the educational software to use on their phones.
