Abstract:

It seeks to determine the feasibility and appropriateness of applying the first level of Personal Software Process in Systems Technology program with emphasis on software development, in order to develop in the students, basic and technical skills in Project Management and Quality. It was designed and implemented a pilot test for four groups of different levels of training. Each group performed two individual practices, according to their level of training, from which they collected some data that showed the learning outcomes. The main findings are: (a) the opening of freshman students to the application of PSP, in contrast to the resistance of students from last semester to the application of PSP, (b) the complexity of the tool in time and defects recording that generates more work to students and divert their attention from the technical work; c) positive relationship between final product quality and adoption of PSP.
