The main objective of the article is to show the results of an investigation carried out in the context of a series of studies being carried out in the context of the research line: culture of negotiations in Colombia, which is being developed based on the institutional guidelines for the Finance and International Business Program from the Universidad Santiago de Cali; in this case, the trade of handicrafts from the municipality of Salento, Quindio. Starting from the recognition of the environment and its actors, arises as a qualitative research that reveals the cultural, social, economic and political factors that are characterizing the General characteristics and peculiarities of the artisan market and the behavior of its merchants.
