Fusagasugá is a growing municipality by his proximity to Bogota D.C. Nevertheless, the utilities coverage is only able at urban places. At the rural areas the population do not have drinking water access, in this way, it established the necessity to develop a natural coagu­lant to do the water treatment by the population by in-house process, it would have simple operation and easy access. At first it was applied a survey to know quality and availability water at the Espinalito and El Placer villages.This work show the technical review of the natu­ral flocculant development for superficial water treat­ment and results of the survey application. This study is trying to give the initial steps in the building of a sustainable system to get drinking water for low in-come communities.
