Resumen La historia de los medios masivos de comunicacion en Colombia durante el siglo XX, fundamentalmente la radio y la television, es abordada en esta obra desde una perspectiva historica y sociologica. Se describe el proceso de implementacion de las primeras redes de comunicacion en nuestro pais con fines educativos, y la emision de transmisiones radiales y televisivas que empezo en las ciudades y logro la cobertura de zonas rurales nunca antes alcanzadas. Al mismo tiempo, se analizan las medidas gubernamentales que impulsaron dichos proyectos y que posteriormente, en una epoca de cambios bajo las consignas de la modernidad, llevaron a su polemica finalizacion.
