The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) operates in environments characterized by: highly competitive conditions, incursion of new operators, incorporation of emerging solutions, continuous economic and social changes, and all of these form a picture of uncertainty when creating business models conducive to sustainable development. The traditional techniques can do fairly accurate projections about the performance of the sector in which it operates a service or product, but the complexity of the markets and its players is such that it is necessary to use new tools to approach to this problem. In this way, system dynamics becomes a good alternative to approach the situation, since it facilitates the ability to synthesize modeling components, relationships, structure and dynamics of the system to analyze the interactions and behaviors in and of its components. This article presents some results obtained during the development of the research project “Modelo del Mercado de Acceso Banda Ancha al Servicio de Internet Residencial en Colombia, una Aproximacion desde la Dinamica de Sistemas”, which can identify and propose new ways of understanding, planning and management of market dynamics with broadband access to residential Internet service in Colombia.
