This paper presents the particularities about the Industrial Chemistry program which is slated for implementation at the Instituto Tecnologico Metropolitano (ITM). With this program, ITM strives not only to expand the academic choices available to the community but also well-rounded professional who are capable to respond to the needs and the various manufacturing sectors and familiar with the related industrial processes and who will spur development of the country. This paper also seeksfrom academia -to fortify the relationship between the University, ForProfit, and Government with the goal pf encouraging students to study Industrial Chemistry and to develop the decision-making skills they will need in over the course of their career.This paper presents the need, the justification, the objective, the professional and occupational profiles and the overall structure of the curriculum.
