This study shows the description of firms created by engineers graduated from Universidad Industrial de Santander, looking in their characteristics for the level of engineering applied in their process of production. A survey was developed in order to ask graduated engineers about their entrepreneurships, taking into account the utility maximization model of human behavior and the expectancy theory. This research contributes to design programs for helping engineering students to create business.
