In the warehouse logistics there are many processes and procedures can be improved with ICTs, however, its use increases implementation costs. The needs are evident in the area of inventory in control of cost reduction, and optimization models, which allow evidence a coordinated, cost-effective and productive for business flow. One of the sectors in which problems are presented in inventory management is the engineering sector, for this reason the objective of this project is to design a model for optimizing purchasing processes and inventory applied to engineering in Cartagena city, which contributes to improving the activities in each company. The implementation of this software will enable companies in the sector control activities in terms of inputs and outputs, lead tracking of processes, contribute to streamlining operations, reducing costs and improving information flows.
