The objective of this research was to understand and deepen the needs of families and school with children with intellectual disabilities, to establish social relations, taking into account the perception of parents, teachers, children with intellectual disabilities and classmates. It was a qualitative research, the data collection instrument was the semi structured interview, which identifies significant details of the experiences. Among the results, it was found that in the family it is reflected the need to integrate children in everyday social activities because they spend most of their time with their parents or at school. At school needs are evident to respond to negative situations, in handling emotions and conflict resolution. Sometimes children with intellectual disabilities, have aggressive behaviors that do not facilitate relationships with peers at school.It is concluded that it is necessary to families to implement in their parenting practices that encourage socializing habits, such as asking the favor, thank, discuss and share with other people around. At school, teachers need to work very closely and complementary way with families and empower children in negotiation and mediation for the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
