The theory of biological evolution is essential in order to understand the diversity of living organisms, although it is still controversial in certain social groups.We report a piece of research carried out in order to comprehend the acceptance or rejection of biological evolution by Brazilian students of two different groups from Tangará da Serra, in the Amazonian region.Groups were: High School freshperson students and Undergraduate students seeking a Biology degree.The information was collected with questionnaires using Likert scales.Two hundred and ninety-four (294) questionnaires were filled out by high school freshperson students and one hundred and fifty-nine
