The present paper aims to analyze the laws approved by the Colombian legislator with the goal of protecting the right to property over real estate owned by the family or by Head-of-Family woman. The four cases to be analyzed allow to question the existence of a genuine protection for the family or for the Colombian woman, as well as the balance which must exist between the mentioned protection and the rights of third- party creditors.
