This article illustrates the evolution in the way Chamoiseau deals with the issue of nature destruction in three narratives, published in 1982, 1992 and 2002, respectively. First, he immerses himself in the imaginary of a mythical Africa, opposing the behaviours of the dominant and dominated groups. Secondly, he prioritizes the interstitial space of the rural and the urban. Finally, he opens his reflection to a more universal perspective when he denounces the consequences on the human being of the environmental damage caused to our planet.
