El presente articulo da a conocer los resultados de una investigacion que tuvo como objetivo describir la presencia del uso de alcohol en estudiantes de tercero a quinto semestre del programa de Psicologia de una universidad privada en la ciudad de Barranquilla. La muestra estuvo conformada por 147 estudiantes de III, IV y V semestres y el instrumento utilizado fue la escala AUDIT, para identificar aquellos sujetos que tenian consumos nocivos de alcohol en un estado inicial. Se identifico la presencia de habitos de consumo de alcohol en los estudiantes. Igualmente se identificaron individuos en los 10 reactivos de la escala. Se hallaron diferencias clinica y estadisticamente significativas en las puntuaciones del AUDIT, tambien se mostraron tamanos del efecto de grandes a enormes. Abstract This article reveals the results of an investigation that aimed to describe the presence of alcohol use among students in third to fifth semester of Psychology program at a private university in the city of Barranquilla. The sample was comprised of 147 students of III, IV and V semesters and the instrument used was the scale AUDIT, to identify those subjects which had harmful consumption alcohol at an early stage. We identified the presence of student alcohol consumption habits. Also individuals were identified in the reactive 10 scale. Clinically and statistically significant differences AUDIT scores were found, large effect sizes were also huge.
