This article is focused on an analysis of the pertinence of the transportation infrastructure in the Zone ofEconomic and Social Development- ZODES- Montes de María (Bolivar, Colombia) based on its agricultureproductive capacities in front of the national, departmental and municipal development plans, and thevisions of competitiveness in the department of Bolivar and that have an impact on the region. The resultsof the analysis show that the scarcity in the infrastructure of transportation and the impact that this onegenerates in the mobility are reflected on the low production of the economic activities with competitivepotential, and therefore in the integral development of the region as well as that of the department ofBolivar, which hinders – on the short term- the visions of competitiveness that were planned.
