Introduccion: el dengue y en particular el dengue hemorragico (DH) tienen importante prevalencia en Colombia. Objetivo : describir las manifestaciones inusuales mas observadas en pacientes pediatricos con DH. Materiales y metodos: estudio retrospectivo descriptivo, serie de casos, en historias clinicas de ninos menores de 18 anos de edad, que egresaron del Hospital Infantil Napoleon Franco Pareja, en Cartagena, Colombia, desde 2006 a 2011, con diagnostico de DH. A partir de los diagnosticos de egreso, se buscaron en los archivos las historias clinicas y en un formato disenado especialmente se registraron los datos sociodemograficos, clinicos y paraclinicos. Resultados: durante el periodo del estudio egresaron 90 pacientes con DH. En historias de 26 pacientes se encontraron documentadas manifestaciones inusuales de DH. En orden de frecuencia fueron: hepaticas 73%, colecistitis alitiasica 23% y pancreatitis aguda 4%. No se observaron compromisos de otros organos. Los pacientes tuvieron buena evolucion y no hubo eventos de mortalidad. Conclusiones: el higado fue el organo comprometido con mayor frecuencia, durante la evolucion de la infeccion grave por el virus del dengue. As of the discharge diagnosis, the clinical histories were looked in the archives and the sociodemographic, clinical and paraclinical data were registered in a format designed especially for them. Results: during the period of the study, 90 patients with DHF were discharged from the Hospital. In clinical histories of 26 patients were found unusual clinical manifestations of DHF. In order of frequency, there were: Hepatic manifestations 73%, acalculous cholecystitis 23% and acute pancreatitis 4%. Other organs were not compromised. All patients had good evolution and there were not mortality events. Conclusions: in the present case series, the liver was the most frequently affected organ during the evolution of the serious infection by the dengue virus.
