El artículo pretende hacer un acercamiento al perfil, en cuanto al uso de las TIC, por parte de docentes de instituciones educativas ubicadas en el sector rural de cuatro departamentos colombianos (Caldas, Caucas, Huila y Nariño). Se inicia con un recorrido por la influencia de las TIC en el ámbito educativo, especialmente en cuanto al rol del docente en ese nuevo ambiente escolar.
