Television creates emotivism because of its audiovisual characteristic and at the same time it unites teenagers and through this channel they find an answer to their questions, it works as company and guidance and creates models and stereotypes. It is important to know if the representations of television about marriage and families influence the future scenarios that are raised by teenagers mostly about the decision of forming a family and consolidate it through the marriage. This an exploratory investigation applied to a school in Bogota; the methodology of this study is mixed, quantitative and qualitative and contains a survey applied to 84 teenagers between 13 and 17 years old. Thanks to the retrieved information we can prove that television is part of the daily life of teenagers, they consider that it provides them information about marriage and family but sometimes it isn’t real; even though marriage is a dream that some of them consider, family represents to the majority of the teenagers a bonding of love, security and confidence. Although television determinates models of behavior, it doesn’t define their future decision.
