This paper offers a position on the participation and competitiveness in the sector of food and beverages in Atlantico-Colombia. We will analyze the commercial participation and evolution of the sector in general during the period of the years 2000 to 2014. In order to determine the competitiveness of the exportations we will make use of three commerce indicators: Index of Revealed Comparative Advantage, Relative Trade Balance, and Importing Intensity Index. The results of the study reveal a reconfiguration of the sector characterized by a loss of competitiveness since 2008.
