The current document is intended to reflect the importance that represents the development of a new method for detecting cardiac abnormalities using wavelet analysis, in addition to using an algorithm for pre-diagnosis of possible abnormal electrical patterns present. A mathematical analysis with Wavelet Symlet 7 electrocardiographic signals acquired in patients living in the state of Meta, Colombia was made. This analysis allows to characterize cardiac abnormalities, specifically abnormalities associated with common diseases such as tachycardia, bradycardia, hypercalcemia, and atrioventricular blocks, among others. work with MATLAB of Mathworks, Inc. software to adapt and analyzes these ECG signals was performed, enabling preprocessing phase, where the signal is subjected to a "filtering" a multiresolution analysis phase by through the discrete wavelet transform, and additionally by means of an algorithm to identify heart abnormalities present in the patient, becoming a supporting tool for the pre-diagnosis better about cardiac abnormalities caused by common illnesses.
