This paper presents the design and digital implementation of an inverse-optimal-control on a power conversion circuit by means of mixed-signal simulation. After selecting a proper Lyapunov-function-candidate, the proposed controller is codified in VHDL and converted into PSpice components by using conversion tools allowing mixed-signal simulation in OrCAD-CADENCE®. Simulation results show good performance for the proposed controller regulating the output-voltage of a DC-DC Boost power converter. Further analysis on cost-functional allows to verify energy-saving for accomplishing error reduction in the proposed control compared with a conventional (Proportional-Integral) technique. Also, the precision of results is highly affected by resolution of digital representation of signals. Experimental verification of simulation predictions by hardware synthesis is part of current ongoing work.
