The present paper is product of a research in the field of education, concerning in the study of underachievement junior high school student’s attitude in the area of mathematics. It has as to identify if the attitudes between parents and their students, are directly affecting the mathematical training in high school. The methodology used had a qualitative approach, based on the case study, using as a methodological tool Likert survey, which were constituted of affirmative question that cover four categories: support parents, attitude of parents, mathematic formation and mathematic conception. Taking as sample twenty four students with their family in grade: 7th, 9th, 10th and 11th whom present difficulties in mathematic form process, of three schools from metropolis area of Barranquilla. The results gotten in the analysis were product of comparing the survey answers of parents and students, finding contradictions amongst parents and sons actions that were asked. Getting the conclusionthrough the analysis of the contradictions finding in the parents attitudes affect directly the attitudes of students in front of the mathematical training process.
