The curriculum updates in the academic programs are nowadays essential for accreditation processes of high quality in engineering programs. This paper presents the implementation of a competency-based curriculum reform applied to engineering programs of the Cooperative University of Colombia. During the planning and execution it was considered a methodology comprised of processes and activities that allowed the transit of curriculum plans without competencies to new students, given the complexity of the work in the classroom, the evaluation, support, among other aspects that are part of the academic plan. As a result it offers a methodological guide and the system of evaluating the implementation of competency-based curriculum reform.
