In this brief note we address the relation between economic analysis and the training of businessmen by taking into account four viewpoints: 1) the need for economic theory training in Business Schools; 2) the overlapping areas of economics and business; 3) the portray of the entrepreneur throughout the history of economic thought; and 4) as the main theme of this work, the importance of an overall discussion of economic development where its issues are addressed in such a way that business phenomena can be dealt with from an economic perspective, via training.
