A novel photovoltaic panel model that works with uniform irradiance and partial shading, was developed. An explanation of the model, theoretical results and experimental validation are presented. The work can be separated into three main sections; firstly, a solar cell model based on the single-diode model. Secondly, the model is expanded to represent the reverse bias region without the by-pass diodes addition. Finally, the characteristics of the entire module are obtained based on each solar cell environmental conditions. This work was made as first step to build a full-reconfigurable photovoltaic module, so first considerations of a reconfiguration algorithm are also presented.
