Due to the celebration of the V centenary of The Prince's appearance, this essay highlightsthe conditions under which the author's mind created it: the humanistic surroundingsthat gave life to it. With these considerations regarding his thinking, and how his ideaswere elaborated, we can remark a vital process, not only for the formation of his ideas butregarding his political observation and practice: the republican experience motivated bythe priest Girolamo Savonarola in Florence.
