Se reporta un estudio comparativo de productos existentes en el mercado, para definir criterios con respecto a los cuales se puedan comparar muestras obtenidas en investigacion de varistores o definir estandares de control de calidad para consumidores. Se estudiaron caracteristicas cristalograficas y morfologicas de varistores con diferentes voltajes de ruptura, presumiblemente de composicion estandar de oxido de cinc, mediante DRX y SEM; se realizo el analisis quimico cuantitativo y de caracterizacion electrica para obtener la curva caracteristica I-V.
