ABSTRACT Although myths have been approached from multiple disciplines that deal with symbolic language, the studies carried out by Analytical Psychology on this subject are not very known. The perspective of this approach, created by the Swiss Psychologist Carl G. Jung , starts from the assumption that myths can be conceived as the psychic projections of their creators at different times and cultures, representing symbolic manifestations of the collective unconscious. This article intends to present some of the hypotheses and elemental foundations of this approach and also, illustrates its interpretative value in the Colombian Kogi creation myth. Such analysis does not intend to take the place of other’s approaches analyses, but to complement the mythological understanding from a different psychological point of view. Key words : Analytical Psychology, Jungian myth interpretation, Kogi Mythology, Symbolic language.
