Abstract A new species of Lockhartia from Colombia is described and illustrated. The new species, Lockhartia niesseniae, is similar to L. biserra and L. micrantha, from which it differs by the obovate petals and a subrhombic, shortly apiculate middle lobe of the lip. The differences between those species and a key to Colombian species of Lockhartia are provided.
