On the basis of a research on violence that pervades among young men from popular sectors in Latin American cities, we present the subjective and social processes identified during the process biographical reconversion of young men who forged alternative life trajectories at two levels: a) the subjective level with themselves and b) the subjective level towards others, i.e. social relations.
