Our purpose here is to characterize the evolution with the milling time of the temperature dependence of the magnetic properties of mechanically alloyed Fe 0.6 Mn 0.1 Al 0.3 samples. Mossbauer spectra show a progressive increase of the magnetic disorder and an increasing paramagnetic site which corresponds to Fe sites rich in Al atoms as near neighbours. The temperature dependences of magnetisation and AC susceptibility did not show any evidence of a phase transition on the temperature range 5-300 K for the samples milled for long time.
