Problem: The present psychotherapeutic intervention in HIV/aids is a field in which a great variety of psychotherapeutic techniques are proliferated without any connection or therapeutic articulation. Objective: To design a general model of psychological therapy on HIV/aids which has as its heuristic framework, the progressive focal point of stress put forward by Lazarus and Folkman (1986). Results: The design of the model is put forward which in turn goes through a validation phase. This has as its central axis the development and strengthening of confrontation strategies
