In this work, we describe development, implementation, and testing of a computer vision system for passer-by detection in a controlled environment during a specified time window. Proposed system is parameter-free, calibrationfree, and single-camera. System localizes and tracks in real-time a passer-by within the interest zone, determines his or her direction, and keeps a detailed record. This paper also summarize image processing techniques used in this process, implementation tools, experimental tests, system’s constraints, and discuss the obtained results.
