The design and construction of an automatic lathe implies the development of a mechanical system, an electronic system and a data processing system, which have to interact aiming to mold a material through the detachment of shaving; taking as a guide a CNC input code. The development of a system with computational, electronic, and mechanical components corResponds to a mecatronic system [1], where the designs are complemented in order to achieve a general objective. The present article describes the design process of an electronic system control for an automatic CNC lathe built with di- dactic purposes. An explanation of the operation of each of the components and the requests that guided the process of design is provided.
