This document analyzes several aspects of the humanitarian crisis in Colombia, including the perceptions of threat held by distinct governments regarding the humanitarian crisis and the armed conflict, the significance of concepts such as humanitarian crisis and human rights crisis, and internal armed conflict, and its acknowledgment by intergovernmental and state institutions. In addition, several regional manifestations of the humanitarian crisis, linked to conjunctural aspects of the crisis, are discussed, with emphasis on forced displacement in Colombia’s border regions.
