This study is a qualitative research that aims to highlight the importance of supervised practice for initial teacher education. Data were obtained from the teaching experience of two undergraduate students, when they planned and implemented a sequence of activities in a public school from Jaboticabal, in Sao Paulo state, Brazil. The study discussed their choices and teaching strategies in pursuit of promoting meaningful learning of their student.
