Objective: To Correlate The Results Between The Treatments With Conventional NSAIDs (Diclofenac ®) And Triamcinolone Acetonide (Kenakort Slurry-A ®) Intra - Local Postoperative Morbidity (postoperative Week: Facial Swelling, Pain And Limitation Of Opening) After Surgical Extraction Of Third Molars. Methods: We Selected 22 Healthy Patients (11 Men And 11 Women) Assigned To The Program Of Oral Surgery For Elective Removal Of Retained Lower Third Molars, Faculty Of Dentistry Of The University Cooperative Colombia The Period Between July 2007 And February 2008. After The Evaluation Was Done Of The Third Molar Surgery Under Local Anesthesia (lidocaine 2% With Epinephrine). All Patients Required To Achieve Osteotomy And Dental Extraction. The Extractions Were Performed By Two Oral And Maxillofacial Surgeons (HS, LF). Results: The Postoperative Pain Was Significant Difference Between The Two Groups. Treatment With Kenakort ®-A Showed An Average Intensity Of Pain Than The Group That Received Only Diclofenac (p = 0,019). The Trismus Was No Significant Difference For Both Groups, But The Group Treated With Triamcinolone Acetonita Intra-local Failure Was Shorter. Conclusions: Administration Of Glucocorticoids Within The Local Additional NSAIDs Can Propose A New Protocol In The Management Of Postoperative Third Molar Extraction.
