The article analyzes some instances of negotiation to raise funds employed by a mutual organization that was highlighted in Tucumán associative universe: the Monteros Workers’ Center for Mutual Help in a period roughly between 1899 —when the Center was founded— and 1940, a year marked by the consolidation and progress of the association. The paper argues that legislative representatives, as intermediaries between those who formed the mutual and political authorities, played a key role in the search for economic founding.
