The X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the pentanary compound CuZn0.5InCrSe4 crystallizes in the monoclinic structure with lattice parameters a = (7.331 ± 0.002) Å, b = (7.565 ± 0.002) Å, c = (7.213 ± 0.004) Å and β = 104.5°. A secondary cubic phase identified as □–Cu0.5In0.5Cr2Se4 with lattice parameter a = 10.569 Å is in coexistence with the pentanary compound, in relative amount of approximately 10%. DTA analysis gave a melting point of ≈︂1400 K and two transitions at ≈︂1350 and ≈︂1300 K, respectively.
