This article aims: first, to understand the theoretical position that base citizenship education in Colombian.Second, propound a criticism of that position, and third, to provide a civic education proposal that purport to be more consistent with democratic principles and effective in practicing.Recommendations are proposed to form in critical thinking and disposition to act to work with, from and to the emotions with an artistic approach (sensible and creative) in the teaching of all subjects.The presented proposal focuses on the techniques of Theatre of the Oppressed by Augusto Boal, considering that it allows to Formación ciudadana en la universidad: una propuesta para la acción *
