Ethanolic fraction of liofilized extract and the total not liofilized aqueous extract (infusion) of calices of Hiiscus sabdariffa were th treatments that presented higher diuretic effect in male albine rats, cepa wistar, with average weight 295.1 g, when evaluated at concentration of **20 mg/kg of corporal weight compared with the positive control hydrochlorotiazide respectively. L3 presents a diuresis of non electrolytic type according to that established by Stein, with physiological behaviour different to that of positive patron hydrochlorotiazide. The total liofilized aqueous extract at 400 mg/kg of corporal weight dose do not induce either macro-morphological nor histopathological alterations when administered in male albine rats, cepa wistar.
