IMPREGNACIÓN DE TIO2 SOBRE BOROSILICATO POR EL MÉTODO SOL-GEL USANDO INMERSIÓN A VELOCIDAD CONTROLADA

Acceso Cerrado

Abstract:

TiO2 was supported on borosilicate glass producing resistant, uniform and photoactive films. The support matrix, composed by silica, was synthesized by sol-gel method, in which the TiO2 was dispersed at high speeds. Tubes of borosilicate glass, previously treaty with HCl, were submerged in the sol at controlled speed; finally, the supported materials were thermal treated to 100°C during 4 hours. The films were characterized using UV-Vis spectroscopy, SEM and EDX while the Film photoactivity was evaluated in the degradation of 4-chlorophenol, using HPLC and UV-Vis spectroscopy to follow the reaction. Results showed a 4-chlorophenol degradation of 90% with kinetic of order 1 and hydroxiquinone and benzonquinone as photodegradation by-products.
