We report a case of mesenchymal chondrosarcoma of the kidney in a 15-year-old boy who presented with a palpable metastatic focus in the right axilla. Bone scintigraphy performed as part of the initial evaluation of this child showed intense uptake within the occult primary lesion in the right kidney, as well as metastases in the lungs and right axilla. Although rare, this entity should be included in the differential diagnosis of focal abnormal renal uptake of bone-seeking radiopharmaceuticals.
