Law 256 of 1996 contains a General Prohibition Clause in its article 7 in which Commercial Law principles and broad terms are used to describe the conducts that are prohibited by it.This clause has been extensively developed in the jurisprudence of the Superintendence of Industry and Trade.Given the broad nature of the norm, this paper takes a tour of this jurisprudence to clarify the nature and scope that Article 7 has as a general clause of prohibition and also to extract its rules of application and interpretation.
