Our approach called HMIPv6-BI proposes a modification to the Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 protocol in order to reduce the use of bandwidth in the radio link between AR and MN. HMIPv6 establishing a tunnel between MAP and MN, which leads to tunnel headers traveling by air interface, leading to greater use of the channel. With HMIPv6-BI improves the situation. In addition to significantly reducing the bandwidth of the radio channel, HMIPv6-BI allows the use of multicast tunnels to reduce the handover latency. The HMIPv6-BI analysis shows favorable results, when is compared with the standard approach. These results are compared with NS-2 simulations.
