From the beginning, the Switched Reluctance Motors (SRM) have been used for aeronautical and automotive industry given its enormous benefits. However, it has some disadvantages, among which are the acoustic noise they generate, the high torque ripple and strong mechanical vibrations that invite to lose enthusiasm by them. This article demonstrates that a suitable control system it is possible even under adverse conditions, operating a switched reluctance motor within tolerable levels of acoustic noise while maintaining acceptable efficiency.
