Saleri and colleagues 1 in their article in Journal of Travel Medicine 2006; 13:112–113, reported an interesting case of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) complicating infection with Plasmodium vivax malaria in an Italy‐returned traveler woman from Venezuela.
